Gašper Hrovat

Today, based on the west coast of Sweden, Gašper Hrovat was born in Slovenia. Sports, drawing and dancing have always been a big part of his life. His passion towards dancing grew bigger when he started with Lindy Hop, but it didn’t stop there. The complexity of Balboa, its versatile footwork and closer connection seems to never stop entertaining Gašper’s interest to dive deeper into it. He doesn’t just love dancing Balboa, he breathes Balboa.

Gašper is one of the happiest dancers you can find on a social dance floor. He likes to keep his ears close to the music and soles of his feet even closer to the floor, which makes it feel and look so easy. His style is smooth, light and exciting. When music gets on fire, so does he, and his inner eight year old gets out to play.

Since 2010 the world has seen him grow into a professional and pedagogical dance instructor, mentor and supporter to many local scenes around Europe. His workshops are a great mix of fun, hardwork and creativity. And as Gašper likes to say “See you on the dance floor!”

Fancy Dougherty

Hailing from Los Angeles, California, Fancy (a birth name) fell in love with Lindy and Shag in 2008, with Balboa trailing not far behind. She’s been hooked ever since, constantly endeavoring to improve her technique on a never-ending quest for connection, improvisational freedom in social dancing and the true jitterbug spirit.

She has performed, competed and taught all over the world, was nominated for the California Swing Dance Hall of Fame in 2014 and is a five-time winner of the National Jitterbug Championships in the shag division. She loves to dance with new people and beginners, so be sure to ask her to dance!
